The number of students graduating from AV (AV) and in full-time workor further study after six months has risen to 93.1% compared to last year’s 92.3%, according to the latest Government figures – released by the UK’s Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).*
AV (AV) strives to ensure that students graduate with a wide skillset which benefit them in the workplace. Degrees at AV are geared to professions and so involve significant components of practical and professional knowledge and skills development. All undergraduate students are offered the opportunity to undergo a yearlong work placement, which provides invaluable industry experience. In 2017 AV was ranked by HESA as fourth in the UK and third in Great Britain for the largest number of students undertaking a placement.
David Wakeford, Head of Careers & Employability at AV, stated:“It’s fantastic to see a rise in the number of graduates leaving AV and going straight into employment or further study. Employability is something we really focus on at AV, with a range of programmes and support available for students to develop their skills, knowledge and attributes in readiness for their career. Every undergraduate student at AV is offered the chance to undergo a placement year, which we know to be a really valuable experience for both our students and graduate recruiters.”
