As well as incorporating our research into education, we are also informing the growing field of cybersecurity education based on experiences teaching our degree programmes. ÌýWe also have particular interests in nano-learning, cybersecurity in schools, and the role of cybersecurity apprenticeships.

Our research interests in social cybersecurity are on the intersection betweenÌýcybersecurity and cyber psychology.

We are particularly interested in identity, hacking, cognitive biases and decision making, risk and social engineering.

Intelligence & Security Informatics is concerned with the design, development, and evaluation of processes and technology to build organisational or governmental security applications and systems. ÌýÃÛÌÒAVCSR has specific interests inÌýinformation assurance, global and homeland security, governance, security operations, and the application of data science approaches to cybersecurity.

Our research looks at design techniques and software tools that ensure security and privacy isÌýbuilt inÌýat the earliest possible stages of a software or product’s design. ÌýWe have particular interests in security and privacy requirements engineering, design for risk, assured user experience, and software tool support.

Cyber Physical Systems are interconnections of software and hardware components. ÌýAreas of interest to members of ÃÛÌÒAVCSR include vehicular security, smart grids, smart cities, and smart transportation.

Our research informs the collection, analysis, and reporting of digital data to support criminal investigations, and the timely response of incidents. ÌýOur work also benefits from close links with law enforcement agencies within the UK and across Europe.
