BSC campus closing April 12-14 due to statewide blizzard

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for northwest and north-central North Dakota effective Tuesday, April 12 to Thursday, April 14. Heavy snow and blizzard conditions are expected with 12-24 inches of snow accumulations over the three days and winds gusting up to 50 mph. Travel will become very difficult to impossible and should be restricted to emergencies only.
 
Due to the impact of the anticipated storm, BSC is taking the following precautions and giving the following guidance: 
 
  1. 蜜桃AV campus will be closed Tuesday, April 12 through Thursday, April 14 and all classes and events will be canceled during this 3-day period.
 
  1. Students should refer to Blackboard for class information related to this cancelation. Regardless of course modality (online, face-to-face, hybrid), this weather event has the potential to impact all classes in some way. As such, flexibility and open communication should be the focus of student-faculty interactions. Continue to monitor your BSC email for additional updates as they are provided.
 
  1. As scheduled, BSC will be closed and no classes held on Friday, April 15 in observation of Good Friday and no classes will be held Monday, April 18 due to the holiday break, but campus and offices will be open. Classes will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19.
 
  1. At this time, it is anticipated that it could take campus maintenance crews multiple days to clear the campus of the large quantities of snow. For your safety and that of essential campus workers, if you do not need to be on campus, please don’t be. All students are encouraged to make decisions that are in the best interest of your interest and pre-plan accordingly for safe holiday travel, food, medicine and clothing needs. 
 
  1. BSC residence halls will remain open. Any student who will be staying in a BSC residence hall at any time from Tuesday, April 12 through Monday, April 18 should communicate this to Student & Residence Life at bsc.housing@bismarckstate.edu if you haven’t already done so. 
 
  1. BSC Mystic Marketplace will be open 11 AM to 5:30 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will reopen on Monday at 7:30 AM to 7 PM.
 
  1. Please continue to monitor your BSC email for additional updates.
